Hodi-Karibu!

So I have never studied Swahili and within a week at Hekima Language Center, I was able to do full greetings. We had class for three hours a day and were split betweeen 4 classes. Bwana Patrick is my professor. He teaches Anna, Conor, Emily Fleming, Regan, Kristina and I. He is from the Kisumu region, has the goofiest laugh, and works part-time at Pizza Hut.

Goal: Fluency in Kiswahili before I depart Kenya

However, it is very hard to be motivated to learn Swahili considering most people speak English. Also, everyone speaks at least three languages. Engish, Kiswahili and a local dialect. Kiswahili is a collaboration of foreign languages. It is interesting how much it overlaps with Arabic and Hindi.
